Promise to join us for the Parade on Friday, July 9
Howdy Pardners! It’s parade time again! On behalf of the Calgary Stampede and the Parade Committee, I am pleased to say the 2010 parade is sure to be one of the best yet. We look forward to you joining us along the parade route, but if you can’t make it out, CBC will broadcast the parade regionally beginning at 9:30 am, Friday July 9 on channel 6. National coverage will air again on Saturday, July 10.
Lead by Marshals Jet and Cord McCoy the parade will begin with our first-ever pyrotechnics show, and feature more than 260 entries, 3000 people and 750 horses. We’re also proud to have skier and hard-working Albertan John Kucera, the 2009 Men’s Downhill World Champion join us as our Celebrity Judge.
Once again the Stampede Parade Committee is partnering with the Child Life Specialists at the Alberta Children’s Hospital on Thursday, July 8 to bring the magic of the parade to cowpokes who can’t make it down. We can’t wait to see the smiles as the kids get back to being kids for a day.
With excitement building in anticipation of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, I invite you to please visit our What’s New section for more updates and information. And don’t forget, it’s never too early to start planning your entry for 2011. Thank you to our outstanding entries and everyone who submitted an application.
See y’all at the parade!
Sincerely,
David Swanson
Parade Chairman
