Main Parade

Same great Parade, new direction! The Calgary Stampede is excited to announce a change to the annual Parade which will see the marching bands, floats and horses travelling in the opposite direction from previous years. 2017 Parade Schedule

The Stampede Parade is a special part of Calgary’s cultural identity and is the event which signals the start of the 10-day celebration. For decades, the Parade has staged itself in East Village and now as the community hits its peak development timeline, changing the route will help reduce the impact to our new and existing residential base.

The Calgary Stampede Parade takes place Friday, July 7, 2017 starting with the Parade Prelude at 7:30 am. The main parade starts promptly at 8:55 a.m. Free admission to Stampede Park will be offered between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. We encourage you to scout out a spot, break in your boots and join us in July!

For so many, the highlight of the Stampede is the parade and each year there are approximately 116 entries partaking in this wonderful event. It is led by the Calgary Stampede Showband and follows a 4.5 km route in downtown Calgary. The parade provides two hours of entertainment consisting of intricate floats, marching bands, western riders and much more, and is of universal appeal.

There will be huge crowds on parade day so plan to arrive early to secure a good viewing location.

We look forward to seeing you on the Parade route!
